Newsletters
It came to my attention that some of you have not been getting the Parent Newsletters that have been sent out, due to technical difficulties. Several staff members spent today cross-checking e-mail addresses and adding any that had been switched. If you receive the newsletter today, but did not receive them for the past two weeks, please contact me and I will resend them to you. delaina.tonks@openhighschool.org
Mascot Logo
The Open High School of Utah is a few steps closer to having a Trailblazers logo. Thank you to each student who submitted fantastic graphics! We gathered concepts, slogans, and ideas from each entry and will be taking it to a designer to put it all together.
Parent Organization
Congratulations to Laura Mohrman, mom to Christine, for her recent appointment as Parent Organization President. She is excited to serve and is looking forward to working with class officers and parents to plan amazing events, activities, and projects for OHSU students.
We are still looking for interested applicants for Secretary and Treasurer. E-mail DeLaina Tonks at delaina.tonks@openhighschool.org if interested. The Parent Organization will assist class officers in planning social activities, take on small projects that will benefit students, and make quarterly presentations to the Board. Elections will be held on October 21st.
Student Directory
A student directory, which shows Name, OHSU e-mail and city, has been compiled and posted safely inside BrainHoney.
First Parent Organization Sponsored Social Activity-We’re going to Lagoon! Click on the link to hear the Class Officers describe this activity! Lagoon, 10am October 24th, Willow Pavilion. Cost is $29.50 with the discount coupons on hold at will for OHSU students, pizza and pop will be provided by the Parent Organization. Come if you can!
OHSU E-mail Addresses
PLEASE ensure that your student is utilizing their OHSU e-mail address
as valuable, important information is communicated from the teachers, and the school through this method. If you have questions on how to set it up, contact a teacher and they can help out.
BYU Deadlines
The deadlnes for your BYU IS courses is the same for your OHSU classes. The BYU classes you have signed up for this semester will have completion deadlines of January 13h, so please make sure your student is pacing himself appropriately.
Trustlands Committee
We will be having our annual elections for our Trustlands Team on Wednesday, October 21st. Every year, each public school receives money from state trustland money. To view the video of the Trust Land organization, go to www.schoollandtrust.org. We have two outstanding candidates; Sheri Lee Burnett and Angela Silva, running for two open positions.
